However, those plans were changed when "Yeah 3x" was released instead. He stated that he wanted to record the song for his pop audience since he had been doing so much urban material. Brown said the song was given to him by DJ Frank E while he was in the studio writing songs for other artists and himself. "I heard the track and I was like man this is incredible.
